A Busy Weekend

This was a whirlwind of a weekend!  Friday, we had a small gathering for Olivia's 2nd birthday.  Everything went well — Olivia especially liked her "DO-WA" (Dora, that is) doll, as well as all the other assorted presents.  (One day, I may figure out how to add pictures — but that day is not today!)

Saturday, Kim was off garage-sailing (a common pasttime on Saturday mornings) from around 6:30 to 8:30; most of the time she is gone at 5:45!  This is very enjoyable for Kim: she is a great bargain shopper too!  Upon her return, we were off to Isaac's first teeball game this year (he played last year too).  At this point, the interest waxes and wanes.  Surely it's not because he is five years old!  Our neighbor Melissa and her three kids came, and the kids joined Bailey and Olivia playing on the great playground at the Healing Place Church during the game.  I was assisting wherever it seemed I was needed with the players.  Then, back home we went; the kids and friends played in their makeshift slide-in-pool (swing set slide sitting in the plastic pool — next best thing to slide into in-ground pool 🙂 ).  Then, Kim and Melissa went to Girls' Night Out, while Dad stayed at home. Bedtime came following a brief late night encounter with "The Princess Bride" on American Movie Classics.

Happy Mother's Day!  Ours was celebrated by going to church and then eating out at On The Border.  A nap was very welcome in the afternoon.  Then, we hosted the Bible study.  After a little splinter surgery on Olivia's foot (shudder), I read Isaac and Bailey chapter 14 in The Magician's Nephew (one ch. to go!), a Bible story, and a couple of their selected books — Did I mention that Anna Grace was a VERY patient girl throughout this whole weekend?!? Then a friend called.  And now, this is the end of the day.  It has been a busy, but good weekend.
