Almost Settled

Well, now it has been nearly two months since I took a new job and we are almost settled.  The old house is officially off our hands as money has exchanged hands and funds are transferred to the bank account!  It has been a whirlwind at times.  Now the tough part is underway: getting established in a new place.  We are starting over in a new church, new homeschool situation, new house, new area, et al.  Kim has done a good job talking about the difficulty in transitioning to a new church on her blog.  There are only a few chores remaining, as the immediate transition winds down: today, we’re planning to go get new license plates (and fork over a non-trivial amount of $$ to the state of AL).

On another note: we did order a new computer.  We think that it will arrive soon.  Hopefully, we’re set for another 4-6 years (we are SLOW to replace computers).  The freebie that we got from friends bit the dust, so the kids have been pretty much out of the computer business lately.  I’m sure they’ll be glad to get back into it.

Work is going well.  I’m still getting a handle on my responsibilities, but I now have a pretty good idea of what I will be doing.  Time to fill out the yearly goals!

Hopefully soon I will be getting back to the hobbies.  I have utterly neglected reading, working on the home PC (games or otherwise), and watching sci-fi.  We have been pretty busy with the transition; oh, and I have been mindlessly watching too much football “entertainment” — when will I ever give it up?!  Or, at least moderate the intake?!!?  One day, I suppose.
